Treatment process

Surgical operations related to diseases of the oral cavity can be performed under general anesthesia as well as local anesthesia. Patients who have undergone major surgical operations are sedated and monitored. Before surgery, patients' comfort, current illnesses and concerns are taken into consideration and patients are cared for accordingly.

Diagnostics

In addition to traditional diagnostic methods such as radiographs, oral surgeons use advanced methods supported by tomography, which allow obtaining a 3D model of the exact structure of the patient's bones. Therefore, an accurate diagnosis can be made and surgical procedures can be planned before the operation.

Oral surgery is directed to pathologies such as maxillofacial surgery, tumors related to teeth and oral cavity, fracture of teeth and jaw, tooth extraction and the effect of orthodontic action on teeth, changes in soft and hard parts of the oral cavity. Pains in the face-jaw region, disorders of the salivary glands, diseases of the lower jaw joint are included in the oral practice of surgery. The identification of certain systemic diseases and their treatment also belongs to the oral practice context of surgery.

Another topic of maxillofacial surgery is congenital or acquired maxillofacial anomalies. If it is located in the front, back or upper or lower jaw, it causes more cracks in the lips, and in such conditions, the chewing and aesthetic aspects are disturbed.
